Sub-Enclosure 2 to Enclosure.
Dear Mr. Eitel,
Victoria View,
470
Kowloon, 1st April, 1890
I have written out a formal resignation
of my post at the Girls School, and I want to thank you for
the kind and courteous way in which you have treated me
throughout the whole affair. I know that many people would have been vexed and annoyed at the upsetting of all their
plans in this way. Please accept my thanks for all your
kindness to me since the day I arrived in Hongkong.
I do not wish to hurry the Government in the
least; I owe it to them to remain on so long as they are
without a teacher to take my place, and shall remain on
until she arrives.
Believe me,
Yours
sincerely,
(Signed)
Miranda Mann.
